This entry will be a little review of my main laptop, 10 months after and almost daily usage since getting it on Christmas 2024.
The computer model I have is the A12UCX of the CYBORG series, and it comes equipped with 8GB ram, 4GB dedicated 2050 card, and a 12th generation i5, plus a 512GB SSD with a M.2 slot
When I got it, it was running Windows 11 Home 22H2. I have tried many OSes on it, like Ubuntu, Kububtu, Fedora, and some others. It now runs Windows 11 Enterprise IOT LTSC 2024
As of writing I have installed Windows again after reinstalling back in August 2025.
It works wonders for my needs as I was coming from a iMac, and before that a dell computer I was maining since May 2021, with a computer replacement in March 2023 due to my dumbass setting a BIOS password on the other model. I was planning on upgrading in the next 12 months anyway. It just so helped that Christmas was coming round, so I asked for it.
3 weeks go by, I wake up on December 25th, open presents, which I’m still grateful for, and I got my main PC.
The previous evening, I had backed up a few files into a folder to copy.
(If you’re enjoying my blog, please leave fead back as all feedback is reader driven.)
Back to the day of unboxing PC. I tried to turn it on but then there’s this new little feature on laptops from around 2021~ where you need to plug it into the wall in order to power it on. I think it’s ideally for security reasons. Trust me, I’ve been in PC stores, and seen people trying to set alarms off, it’s quite insane though.
I plugged it in and switched it on. I was planning on updating my laptop before that to 11, as 10 was dying in the next year. (As of writing it’s in ESU.)
When I had to login, I caved in and signed into my other MS account as I wasn’t giving Microsoft my soul, plus I hated the Recall thing. It needs updating, it took forever to do so as I don’t have the worlds fastest internet.
After that update, I started to finish setup, during this I posted about it on my Discord server, where I posted the following
After it reached the desktop, I did some customisations, like changing the wallpaper, installing Brave (I’m a Firefox user now, been using Zen for a few days as of writing, and to give my opinion it’s clean imo. However Firefox has my bookmarks and passwords so it’s more convenient for me.)
I was also installing Discord for Windows, the desktop client as they call it, it’s more like glorified Chrome with Electron and essential programs. I was also doing Windows Update.
During this I messaged a developer friend who I had added and sent the following
I spent a lot of December the 25th, setting programs up, sigining into stuff. installing things and my configs
One of my games I play, while watching Vengance Most Fowl. I had to setup my iMac on my floor, becuase my desk wasn’t big enough, near my bed, and copy my files over, it was super crooked, becuase i had my IPhone on the WiFi, my laptop, my D610 laptop with Windows XP, which I might have the same install from the day I got my main laptop, plus I got a 128GB SanDisk USB which is my USB for Ventoy. (A tutorial is coming soon on that) and my main laptop.
A few hours go by, I watch the finale of Gavin and Stacey. If you’re UK, you know what I’m talking about
I spend up to around the early hours of 26th December, like about 12:10am ish, on it.
The next day I update the thing to 24H2, it was the latest at the time, and download a few games on it.
Now here comes the rollercoaster of things you shouldn’t do. I’d only had the install a couple days, I tried to partition it and set it as a dualboot and ended up erasing all my data. PLEASE, I SWEAR TO THE LOVE OF GOD. DON’T FORGET TO MAKE A BACKUP.
I had to use 2PCS, one for downloading the iso for 11 24H2 which took a eternity to, and then the other one to flash it in rufus as that other one had no admin rights.
That installation lasted from late December 2024 to Early August 2025, when I reimaged on the 9th,
And that leads us to today, November 8th 2025. (Future MCR here, this was written on the 7th and 8th November 2025 so some things may not be fully true but I just want to let you know.)
During the writing of this, Vista’s OEM release is 19 years ago,
Don’t believe me, check this out.
god I do hate when Wikipedia dates don’t update, but it is what it is
Until the next time, bye!
